The Blendtec Total Blender is an affordable solution to high powered blending. Blendtec has created a great little compact blender here, weighing only 6 pounds and being 15 inches tall, it has an easy to use simple push button design with 6 automatic pre set cycles for you basic recipes and manual speeds on the display. You can confidently blend any ingredient in this high powered blending machine which fits easily on any kitchen counter and fits under cabinets. It has the Blendtec 3hp, 13 amp, 1560 watt motor which comes standard on most of the other Blendtec blender models. It’s able to fit any Blendtec blender jar on it’s motor base including the Wildside Jar and the Twister Jar. You can blend soup recipes, smoothie recipes, juice recipes, dips, batters, ice cream recipes, and many more. You’ll receive a cook book and warranty in the box when you purchase this amazing kitchen tool. I love the easy to use push button display on the Blendtec Total Blender, you can push the smoothie button and it does everything for you, changes speeds for you, then stops when it’s done. Very Simple and efficient. The combination of easy to use automatic controls and blending power makes the Blendtec Total blender a premium choice for your next blender. You can save money and buy it refurbished or get a NEW ONE, the main difference between a refurbished Blendtec blender and a NEW Blendtec blender is the warranty; otherwise, everything works the same.
Blendtec Controls, Motor, and Design
The Total blender weight is only 6 pounds and 15 inches tall which makes it very easy to fit under the cabinets and allows it to sit nicely on your kitchen counter without taking up much space. The powerful motor makes it able to liquify all your toughest ingredients including nuts, seeds, and leafy greens, it all gets pulled down into the thick stainless steel blades and blended.
The front display on the Blendtec Total blender has 6 automatic pre programmed buttons which are smoothies, juices, soups, ice creams, dips, and margaritas. You can push the button and walk away, very easy to use. Each button is set up to run at different speeds and times. They are all timed cycles which stop on their own, you can see the timer count down on the front of the blender display.
You can use the dips button for thicker recipes or use the whole juice button for a more drinkable consistency, or the soups button to heat up a soup or make some hot chocolate milk. Everythings fresh and organic and healthier than store bought.
You can also use the manual speeds and manual blend your recipes if you don’t want to use the automatic features, but you’ll most likely find an automatic feature you fee comfortable using, like the smoothie button, and just push that every time, for most recipes. You are able to manual blend your recipes as well, you have that option.
There is also a pulse feature which is used for chopping or finishing off a blend, also great for thicker recipes like ice cream or dips.
The manual speeds are also in the form of a button where you can push the arrow up or down to change speeds, on the Blendtec Total Blender you have to change speeds incrementally one speed at a time, you can’t jump speeds like on the newer Blendtec Designer 650, or the Blendtec 575.
Blendtec Jar and Blade
The Blendtec Total Blender now comes with the Wildside Jar which is very strong and tough to break, All Blendtec jars are made from Co Polyester Carbonate and being BPA FREE. You can drop the jar and hit it with a hammer and it won’t break, very strong. A great feature with the Blendtec Jars are the blades are dull and won’t cut you when you have to reach down under the blades with a sponge. The Wildside Blendtec Jar offers a slightly wider 4 inch base and is 90 ounces which makes it easier to clean and able to hold a larger capacity vs the standard jar which offers a 3 inch base and is 64 ounces and is slightly narrower at the base. There is also a Twister Jar you can buy which is specifically designed for thicker blends like nut butters and batters.
Warranty and Payment Plan Option
When you buy the Blendtec Total Blender or any Blendtec blender model the box comes with a registration card where you can register your blender model through the Blendtec headquarters which is located in Utah, USA. Once you register your blender you will have a warranty on the jar and blender. If the jar or motor or display breaks or stops working you can send the jar or blender back to the company and they will replace or fix the jar or blender base. You have to pay for shipping but then they will ship the new jar or blender base back for free.
In the Box you will receive a cook book with 300 recipes you can make in the blender. Many delicious ice cream recipes, soup recipes, smoothies, juices, dips, batters, etc.
Blendtec also offers a payment plan option which you can choose to go with during check out so you don’t have to pay the full amount at once.
Blendtec Total Blender vs the Vitamix Blenders
The famous Vitamix brand offers many great blender options like the Vitamix E310, or the Vitamix 5200 or Vitamix 750, or the Vitamix A2500. All Vitamix blenders are great, but the Blendtec Total Blender can match up to any of the Vitamix blender models and actually might have some advantages over them. For example, I really like the small size of the Blendtec Total Blender, it’s much more compact than Vitamix blenders and is shorter so it can fit under cabinets easier and not take up as much space. Another thing I like with the Blendtec Total Blender is the display set up with all it’s automatic buttons, it’s easy to use. The Vitamix Blenders all have the speed dial where you have to manually blend it yourself by turning the speed dial, which is fine but also can take more time. Also most of the time you have to use the tamper to push the ingredients into the blades with the Vitamix blender models where with Blendtec blender models many times you don’t need to because of the way the jar is designed to pull the ingredients into the blades for you. These are just a few of the things I’m seeing about the Blendtec Total Blender which I like.
Both Vitamix and Blendtec have the exact same blending capabilities so whichever Vitamix or Blendtec blender model you decide to go with, it’s not gonna really matter cause you’ll be able to blend smoothies, juices, make ice creams, hot soups, dips, batters, and both Vitamix blenders and Blendtec blender are able to run at very high speeds to make you hot soup recipes. You can’t lose with either company, you’re gonna get a quality product with a great warranty.
The Costs of the Vitamix blenders and Blendtec blenders can get very pricey. So the big issue is which blender model do you go with? The Blendtec Total Blender is an affordable solution and you can also look into buying refurbished blender models.
