Homemade Blender Flour Recipes
Using fresh organic flour is always gonna be better than using store bought enriched flour. Blender Flours are becoming more popular in the 2020’s as we learn more about blending and how it can benefit our health. From smoothies and juices to flours and soups, a high powered blender such as the Vitamix and Blendtec blenders can make fresh homemade flours from natural ingredients such as rice, wheat berries, almonds, etc. Avoid store bought flours because they load them up with preservatives and additives so that they can have a longer shelf life. Homemade flours have to be used within a few days because they will go bad fast, you can freeze them or keep them in the fridge to preserve the life of the flour, but you need to bake a cake or something or you’re wasting ingredients.

How to blend flour
So there are a few different types of flours you can blend. The best place to buy organic natural ingredients is at your local farmers market or at a health food store. Oats, Rice, Wheat Berries, Spelt Berries are some of the more popular grains to blend into a flour. Here’s how to do it.
Step one: Using a DRY CONTAINER; the Vitamix container or Blendtec Jar you are using for your flour has to be completely dry, can’t have any wetness or water on it or it’s not gonna turn out good. USE A DRY container or jar.
Step two: Add your ingredients and close the lid.
Step three: Crank the blender on and turn it to the highest speed.
Step four: Knowing when the flour is ready. This is a crucial step cause you don’t want to over blend your flour. It will be ready in 30 to 60 seconds. The consistency is determined by how long you let the blender run. The longer you let it run the finer the consistency will become. If you want it finer (or lighter and fluffy), then let the blender keep running on it’s highest speed.
Step five: Put the flour into a 1 gallon zip lock bag and seal it to preserve the consistency, then store it in the freezer or if you will use it soon, in the fridge.
Blendtec Flour vs Vitamix Flour
Blendtec flours are easy to make and you can use the same jar and blade that you use for your smoothies, the Blendtec Jar is an all in one jar which you can use for your flours. Use the manual speeds and go up to speed 10 and follow the steps above.
Vitamix flours come out great and can also be make in the same container as you make your smoothies in….. but, Vitamix recommends that you purchase the SPECIAL DRY GOODS CONTAINER by Vitamix for the Dry Goods you make. For all your flour recipes simply use the speed dial and crank it up to speed 10 and follow the steps above.
