The most used and most recommended Vitamix Container is the Low Profile Container, which has a fantastic BPA Free heavy duty design with a bigger 4 inch blade making it easier to clean and allowing you to make larger portions. All the Vitamix Containers are BPA Free but the Low Pro is much easier to clean than some of the other containers such as the old tall 64oz tall container, which is more narrow and has a smaller 3 inch blade, and you’ll find the cleaning thing a big deal because you literally have to clean the container every time you use it. The original tall 64oz Vitamix Container is still a good option and has been around for many years but it is very tall and harder to fit under cabinets and harder to clean, keep that in mind. Both are made from BPA Free material and both are see through.
The Low Profile Container is our favorite choice but Vitamix offers a variety of blending containers to choose from. Here are your options..
You have the Vitamix 48oz Stainless Steel Container which is slightly shorter with the same overall blade design as the Low Profile Container but with a little less room at the bottom where the blade is, still easy to reach into and clean, just not as easy as the Low Pro, plus you can’t make large portions because you are more limited, but really cool container. Might be all you need. It is the only Vitamix Container that is made from Stainless steel vs the other containers which are made from Eastman Tritman Co Polyester. The Stainless steel obviously adds a cool look and is very strong and is the only container from Vitamix that you can’t see through.
There is also another 48oz container which is not stainless steel which is slightly cheaper and is more similar to the other Vitamix Containers in it’s design where it’s a see through container with 4 sharp stainless steel blades. The 48oz Stainless still container is the most expensive from the bunch and is becoming more popular.
Vitamix offers two 32oz containers, one is for your normal wet blends which is for smoothies and such, and one is specifically only for dry goods, called their dry goods container which is for flours and grinding grains. The Dry Grinding container has a slightly different blade design as 2 of the blades are dull and 2 are sharp where the other 32oz container has the standard Vitamix blades which are 4 sharp blades. Both 32oz containers are shorter containers and can easily fit under cabinets, one downside is that the base is harder to reach into with your hand to clean, which you will find a hassle when cleaning your blender everyday. Both are made from the BPA Free Material and both are see through.
A Newly designed Vitamix Container which they are calling the DISC CONTAINER has a similar design to the 48oz container but with an entirely NEW BLADE SYSTEM. Vitamix seems to be experimenting with a different blade style here where the blades are actually not blades at all but rather one big dull stainless circle with holes added in specifically to let ingredients seep through and get blended. I’ve never seen a blade design like this before and this is something new from Vitamix, but if Vitamix is selling it I’m sure it works great.
Recap
So to recap what we just talked about the are TWO 64oz Vitamix Containers, one is tall and one is short and wide, there are TWO 48oz Vitamix Containers, one is made from stainless steel where you cannot see the ingredients being blended and the other is made from the standard BPA Free material that all the other Vitamix containers have. There are TWO 32oz Vitamix Containers, both are shorter and have a 3 inch blade with a narrower base than the 48oz containers. One 32oz container is specifically used for Dry Grinding and has a different blade design for grinding grains, and the other 32oz container is a used for smoothies and juices and the normal recipes you make in all Vitamix Containers. Finally, we have the NEW Vitamix Disc Container which is the same size and design as the 48oz containers but with a completely different blade style, being that it is a circle of steel and not actually blades at all. Hope that all makes sense.
