Vitamix Blenders
A powerful new blender line up by Vitamix, the Ascent Series is the newest in the Vitamix collection featuring digital presets and automatic settings. The sleek design speaks for itself and you will love the way it looks on the kitchen counter, much more modern than the pervious Vitamix blender models. The Vitamix Ascent Series brings you the latest in innovations from Vitamix; including, automatic features, better blending containers, and digital touch display screens.
The Vitamix Ascent Series has four different blender models which are the Vitamix A2300, the Vitamix A2500, the Vitamix A3300, and the Vitamix A3500; numbered in order from price point to advanced features. The higher the number the more features and the more expensive the blender costs. The advanced features do not affect the ability of the blender to make recipes but rather allow the consumer more controls for potentially more convenient blender usage.
Vitamix Blenders – Controls and Features
All four Vitamix Ascent Series blenders come with a 10 speed dial attached to its front display. The powerful 10 speeds Vitamix offers stems from a long line of research and history with all Vitamix Blenders. The 10 speeds are pushed by a strong 2.2hp motor which gives the blenders a speed range of 4000RPMs to 36000RPMs. Extreme speed blending capabilities allow you to make many different types of recipes ranging from dips and batters to smoothies and juices to hot soups and flours.
The four Vitamix Blenders in the Ascent series all come with the Start/Stop Switch which is used to start the blender and stop the blender. To start a Ascent Series blender you must first select the speed you would like it to go or the automatic feature you would like it to run, then push the Start/Stop Switch to start the blender. There is also a Pulse switch attached which works the same way, select the speed you would like to pulse at, then push the pulse switch. You can use the pulse feature for chopping vegetables, finishing off a smoothie, or adding in chunky ingredients to a soup recipe.
All Vitamix Blenders in the Vitamix Ascent Series come with a digital timer on their front display which counts off seconds from the time you start the blender, allowing you to see how many seconds the blender has been running. This is a newer feature that is only on the Vitamix Ascent Blenders. If you select an automatic feature and start the blender then the digital timer will display the time remaining until the blender stops, for example the Soup Setting on the Vitamix A2500 runs for a duration of 5:45, then stops, and the smoothie setting on the A2500 runs for 50sec, where you will be able to see the seconds count down.
The Ascent Series Vitamix Blenders also all have a smart technology mechanism inside the motor which will automatically self detect any issues and shut the blender off if the blender detects that the blender can’t blend for some reason. So the blender won’t break itself attempting to blend a heavy load of ingredients.
Vitamix Blenders – Differences between Blender Features
Differences in the features on the Vitamix Blenders in the Ascent Series are the automatic digital settings and the all digital vs NOT All Digital displays. The Vitamix A3300 and the Vitamix A3500 are all digital with push button technology available on its front displays vs the Vitamix A2300 and A2500 which are more similar to the older Vitamix Blenders featuring a speed dial and the switches for pulsing and turning the blender on and off.
The main difference between the Vitamix A2300 and the Vitamix 2500 is that the 2500 Vitamix has 3 automatic features on it’s speed dial; Smoothie, Frozen Desserts, and Soup. These settings run for 50 seconds, 55 seconds, and 5:45 seconds. The Vitamix A2300 only has the speed dial for blending controls similar to the older Vitamix Legacy models and Explorian models. The main difference between the A2500 and A2300 blender models vs the older Vitamix Blenders is the digital timer which allows you to see the time remaining in the blend. This feature is not offered on the Legacy or Explorian blenders.
The slightly more expensive Vitamix A3500 has the most advanced digital options on its display with 5 automatic presets, a digital timer a digital push button on/off button and digital pulse button. It also has the speed dial like the older Vitamix Blenders so it gives you all the new features with the old features, but it’s all digital.
The A3300 is similar in design to the Vitamix A3500 but it doesn’t have a speed dial or automatic features, it is all digital so if you are looking for that more advanced blender it gives you that but you lose blending control without the speed dial, and you don’t get the automatic push button features so not sure how I feel about it.
Vitamix Blenders – Jars and Blades
Three different containers are offered with the Vitamix Ascent Blender models, the biggest being the Low Profile 64oz container, the next being the 48oz container, and then the optional purchase of the Special Dry Goods container for grinding grains. The Vitamix Low Profile Container is the easiest to use and the easiest to clean because of it’s wide base and it’s bigger 4 inch blade; much easier to reach into the bottom of the container with your hand and clean under the blade with a sponge, highly recommend getting the Low Profile Container.
Can you grind coffee beans and grains with the Low Profile Container?
NO, YOU CANNOT. You can’t grind grains with the low profile container, it won’t come out as good as the Special Dry Goods container. The coffee beans won’t get ground up as fine and the flours will have chunks left behind, I would recommend you get the Vitamix Dry Goods Container for your Dry Grains.
Vitamix Blenders – The Tamper Stick
No different than all other previous Vitamix blender models, the Ascent Series comes with a tamper stick which allows you to push ingredients into the blades as the blender is running. This helps a lot to get air pockets out and is especially useful for thicker recipes like blender ice cream and dips and batters. The tamper is included with the purchase of any of the Vitamix Ascent Series blenders.
Vitamix Blenders – Price Range for Ascent Blender Models
The prices start at $400 and range to $600, so there is a slight difference in price from the A2300 to the A3500, so, it does cost more for automatic features. All the blender models come with the
